We are proud to welcome Spanish techno legend Groof in our XL series. Roberto Gemelín has been releasing electronic music under diverse monikers since the nineties, being one of the first techno producers to release on labels from abroad. His vast discography spans across three decades and his music has been released by super respected labels like Warm Up Recordings, Fieber Records, Cellophan, MInifunk, SUB_tl ... to name but a few.
For this special release he provides 8 cuts of advanced techno, from mental and hypnotic to broken and industrial or simply arpeggiated and beatless.
WHEN THE UNCANNY ARISES starts with Gender Role an elastic mental exercise with metallic and processed components flying over a solid kick and white noise percussive elements add some hypnotic pads and you have a powerful mind and body tool.
Blue follows in a similar approach, clean drum programming, bleepy synth lines and a progressive arrangement constantly evolving and changing Flipping the vinyl, it’s time for the broken rhythms of Feel and understand combining distorted kicks with gummy sequences again administered in a quite wise structure.
Klonger closes the B side with obsessive metallic hits repeating until madness, a powerful industrial beat for the experienced dj’s out there.
The second vinyl slice begins with Negative One, returning to the martial beat combining a precise drum workout with floaty and liquid components, followed by Anónimo coercitivo exploring the deepest side of techno using textures and drones to spice the relentless beat.
Zero opens the C side, providing a solid distorted groove with metallic details and sci fi interstellar bell like sequences, proper futuristic vibes here.
Saying goodbye, the beatless Nothing To fear, an arpeggiated synth solo reminiscent of the old Berlin School of electronics from the seventies.

Roberto Gemelín ha estado lanzando música electrónica bajo diversos apodos desde los años noventa, siendo uno de los primeros productores de techno en editar en sellos del extranjero. Su amplia discografía abarca tres décadas y su música ha sido editada por sellos súper respetados como Warm Up Recordings, Fieber Records, Cellophan, MInifunk, SUB_tl... por nombrar sólo algunos.
Para este lanzamiento especial, ofrece 8 cortes de techno avanzado, desde mental e hipnótico hasta roto e industrial o simplemente arpegiado y sin ritmo.
El álbum comienza con Gender Role, un ejercicio mental elástico con componentes metálicos y procesados volando sobre un bombo sólido y elementos de percusión a base de ruido blanco a los que se suman cuerdas hipnóticas dando como resultado una poderosa herramienta para la mente y el cuerpo.
Blue sigue con un enfoque similar, programación de batería limpia, líneas de sintetizador con bleeps resonantes y un arreglo progresivo en constante evolución y cambio. Dando la vuelta al vinilo, es hora de los ritmos rotos de Feel and Understand combinando bombos distorsionados con secuencias gomosas nuevamente administradas en una estructura super sabia.
Klonger cierra la cara B con obsesivos golpes metálicos que se repiten hasta la locura, un poderoso ritmo industrial para los dj 's más experimentados.
